Opportunities to Serve Others...Serving others is the other half of the Gospel and here at First Glendale you will find many opportunities to put your faith to work, in our church, our community, and the world.Worship: There are many opportunities to serve on Sunday morning: the ministry of our Ushers, greeting people as they arrive, staffing the welcome table, assist in leading worship (liturgists), being a part of our music ministry, sound and video technicians, or helping with the fellowship hour between services. Education: We invite you to be part of a Sunday School Class or Study. There are also opportunities to serve as a Sunday School Teacher or Helper, a Youth Advisor for UMYF, or work behind the scenes on our Education Ministry Team. Church Office: If you have a few hours during the week, the office is always looking for volunteers who have computer or office skills, or can answer the door and telephone when the secretaries are busy. Facilities: Assist with opening and closing on Sunday morning, or become a Facility Coordinator (assist with weddings, memorial services, with outside groups that use our facility.) Van Driver: Drivers are always needed to drive the van on Sunday morning. (Volunteers must be cleared through our insurance carrier.) Rosie's Road Crew: One of the best ways to get acquainted with our campus and meet some really great people is to join the Saturday Morning Grounds Crew (Rosie's Road Crew). They start at 6:30 a.m. and work for two hours raking, trimming, cleaning and getting everything ready for Sunday morning. UMOM New Day Center: Help serve Homeless Meals through the United Methodist Outreach Ministries New Day Shelter (UMOM). UMOM is the largest family shelter in the state of Arizona and there are many ways you can volunteer your time. Habitat for Humanity: Pt your faith to work by becoming a part of the West Valley United Methodist Coalition that is currently building a Habitat home in Peoria, Arizona.  |
