Children and Youth...

Children are very important at First Glendale! Our goal is to provide opportunities where are children are safe, feel loved by God and the people around them, and have opportunities to grow in their knowledge and love for God.

Children's Moment During Worship
Children are welcome in all of our worship services. Families are encouraged to come to worship together and following the Children's Moment with the pastor they will leave for for Sunday School (during the 9:30 service) or a planned activity (during the 11:00 service).

Sunday School
Sunday School for children and youth is offered during the 9:30 a.m. worship hour. We use a curriculum that encourages creative thinking and reasoning. Our teachers are dedicated, nurturing and caring.  Students actively participate in the learning experiences and take home their papers.

Youth
United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) meets on Sundays from 6:00-8:00 pm for youth grades 7-12. Experienced adult volunteers work hard to make Youth Group a place where teenagers feel safe, can make friends, and find opportunities to grow in their faith.

Throughout the year, the Youth gather with other youth groups from around the district and conference for activities that include district dances, outings, summer camps, mission trips, and a summer volleyball league.

Scouting
First Glendale sponsors Boy Scout Troop and Cub Pack 62. Troop 62 was formed in 1932 and is the one of the oldest Troops in the Theodore Roosevelt  Council.
Boy Scouts meet on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the basement. Cub Pack 62 meets on Thursdays at 5:30 in the Sunday School building.
